USDA Equipment for use in Dairy Grading Branch Facilities

12/01/2000

Hapman manufactures USDA Accepted HelixTM Conveyors that meet the stringent sanitary equipment requirements of the food, dairy and pharmaceutical industries. These units have easy access for cleaning/disassembly, and all product contact surfaces are radiused and polished for use in USDA Dairy Grading Branch Facilities. In addition, there are no exposed threads in the contact areas. Tri-clamp connectors and modular construction allows the conveyor to be completely disassembled, using no special tools, in less than five minutes. And, these same connectors allow easy interfacing with sanitary Bulk Bag Unloading stations and other processing equipment. Optional items include; various sizes of conical feed hoppers (in 304 or 316L stainless steel), low-level sensors, round or flat wire augers and portable sanitary bases with stainless steel round tube construction. The unit shown was designed for use in a cheese and milk powder applications and features an AC inverted duty motor for ramp acceleration/deceleration with speeds ranging from 90-400 RPM - allowing precise control of weigh and blending processes. Because of the flexible casing and auger, conveying around, under, or over equipment obstructions is simple allowing product to be conveyed up to 30 feet vertically and/or horizontally. Helix Conveyors are typically used to convey flowable materials such as powder, crystals, flakes and granules and are most often used in "batch-type" applications. Hapman is a leading manufacturer of bulk material handling systems and provides appropriate conveyor solutions for its customers from its "3 choices" of conveyors - Tubular Drag, Flexible Screw and Pneumatic. Additionally, Hapman manufacturers manual bag dump stations with dust collection; bulk bag unloaders, bag filling and batch weigh equipment with a wide range of system options.
